• Basic Dental Procedures

It is absolutely vital to have dental check-ups every six months to maintain your teeth and gums in a healthy condition. We put great emphasis on a routine dental examination to inform you of possible treatment needed. It is as they say, prevention is better than a cure.

    • Pediatric Dentistry (We love to treat children and its a special part of our practice)
  • Treatment under sedation

Conscious sedation is a combination of medicines to help you relax and to block pain during a medical or dental procedure.
It is a very relaxing way of having oral surgery done. Sedation provides a wonderful alternative to general anesthesia, especially in children that requires a lot of dental treatment or has special needs.

  • Orthodontics

      Orthodontics is the art and science of straightening teeth and aligning jaws. We use a range of medical dental devices to;

    • Make sure the tips of teeth are aligned
    • Straighten crooked teeth
    • Improve speech and eating
    • Improve long term health of gums and teeth
    • Prevent long term excessive wear or trauma of the teeth
    • Treat an incorrect bite

    • We recommend that your child visit us for an orthodontic check-up no later than the age of eight. This is important as some orthodontic problems may be easier to correct if they are found early.

  • Dental Implants

    • A dental implant is a titanium “root” which is placed in the jawbone in the position of the missing natural tooth root.
    • After the bone around the implant has healed, a crown is attached to the implant which will then resemble a natural tooth
    • We can also replace several missing teeth with dental implants by using implanted supported bridges and dentures
    • Implants can be surgically inserted under local anesthesia or under conscious sedation in the surgery.
    • In more complicated cases, we work in partnership with a Periodontist or a Maxilllofacial Surgeon.
  • Orthopedics

    • Did you know that early treatment can prevent the need for your child to wear braces? (Subjective to specific cases). This is where Dentofacial Orthopedics and Myofunctional treatment plays a role.
    • Dentofacial Orthopedics involves the guidance of facial growth and development, which occurs largely during childhood.
    • Myofunctional treatment involves retraining and correcting improper swallowing and breathing. These facial muscles influences the way the face and jaw develops and may cause severe orthodontic problems in the future.
  • Minor Oral Surgery

Dentists with a special interest in oral surgery can do smaller operations in the mouth. This includes the removal of wisdom teeth, impacted teeth, severely broken down teeth, biopsies and the placement of dental implants (in certain cases only).

Procedures are carried out using routine local anesthesia, conscious sedation or under general anesthesia in the hospital.

  • Cosmetic Dentistry

    • Veneers are thin, custom made porcelain layers that we bond to the front part of your tooth. It is used to correct worn, chipped, misaligned, stained or otherwise discoloured teeth.
    • A dental crown is a tooth shaped “cap” made from either pure porcelain or a combination of metal and porcelain. It is mostly used to restore severely broken teeth, but also to protect a cracked tooth, teeth that have had rootcanal treatment done and crooked/stained teeth.
    • Bridges are used to replace missing teeth. These can be either supported by your natural teeth or by dental implants.
    • Teeth whitening are also possible by applying a bleaching gel onto the front surface of your tooth for an extended amount of time.
